“Like many, cancer has affected both my close and wider friendship circles, and I want to do my bit to raise money for Leukaemia Care, to support those most in need. All the hard work and training will be worth it when I cross the finish line of this iconic event on Sunday 27th April 2025!”

A Bit About Callum:

What do you do at TECNIQ?

“I joined TECNIQ almost 8 years ago as a design engineer My role has developed over time, and I’m now working as a manufacturing engineer covering support across all programmes with key involvements in product development, tooling and fixture design.”

Why are you running the London Marathon?

“There are two main reasons. Firstly, I’m running to push my limits. After a significant injury ended my love for playing football, I took up running. I was further inspired by my brother who ran the marathon. Secondly, it was an opportunity to contribute to a cause, to raise money for a key charity on a theme close to my heart.”

What has been the greatest challenge so far?

“There have been many, but broadly speaking the greatest have been pushing through small injuries and mental challenges where seemingly small setbacks can have a large effect on morale and enthusiasm. Switching my lifestyle, my eating, my training, my time, by adopting and sticking to a regimented training programme that will get me marathon ready – it’s been a big challenge!”

What has been your greatest achievement during training?

“Breaking past the half marathon distance was a big one for me. There was a time when I didn’t believe it was possible for me to run a half marathon! Breaking that barrier was huge, and now I have the belief I can run further and take on other challenges! Setting new personal bests along the way has also been a great achievement and a great motivation for me, seeing my progression over time is a huge boost.”

Who are you raising money for?

“I’m running for Leukaemia Care, an incredible charity who have been providing much needed support and advice and people affected by blood cancer for over 50 years.”
