The automotive industry of today relies on strategic partners who understand design excellence, scalability and manufacturing perfection. At TECNIQ, we thrive in this environment, partnering with manufacturers to produce some of the most incredible premium vehicle interiors, bodies and structures for ultra-high-value automotive applications.
Engineering a Legend
The latest generation Ford GT was a programme that demonstrated our capabilities as a full-service supplier, uniquely positioned for the development and manufacture of ultra-premium, halo vehicle programmes.
The Ford GT is a legend and working on such an iconic product brand was an incredible privilege, commissioned and delivered through our partnership with Multimatic.
Reimagining an Icon: The Ford GT Challenge
The Ford GT is more than just a supercar; it’s a modern reimagining of an automotive legend, the GT40.
Returning to the track and the road with a bold new design and cutting-edge technology, the GT demanded a partner capable of translating that vision from concept to final, iconic product.
The 2017-2022 generation GT boasted a formidable 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine producing 647 horsepower, achieving a top speed of 216 mph and accelerating from 0-60 mph in just 2.8 seconds. Its lightweight construction, utilising advanced materials like carbon fibre, resulted in a dry weight of just 3,950 lbs.
Complete Interior & Integrated Safety Solution
TECNIQ was commissioned to develop and deliver the interior programme for the vehicle; interior, steering wheel, safety system integration and airbag development.
Developed from a clean sheet of paper, working with their studio team, through feasibility and testing working with Multimatic and other partners right the way through to full production. With seamless delivery throughout.
The programme demanded expertise across a broad range of materials and engineering disciplines, including non-structural and structural carbon fibre, , leather, and Alcantara. We also oversaw unique paint treatments and finishing details, contributing to the GT’s distinct and luxurious aesthetic.
Vertical Integration: Delivering Pace and Precision
Vertically integrated in-house manufacturing in Essex allows for cost control, lead-time, security of supply and, importantly, quality.
TECNIQ stands out through its entire internal manufacturing process, contrasting with other Tier 1 suppliers that typically focus on a single vertical.
TECNIQ has built a reputation for strong quality and speed of delivery that are key to ultra high-end manufacturers.
Uncompromising Quality Assurance and one of Ford’s Smallest Warranty Programmes!
The Ford GT programme wasn’t just about speed; it was about enduring quality.
We were congratulated by Ford on paving the way for one of the smallest warranty programmes in the company’s history – a testament to the meticulous engineering and uncompromising quality control implemented throughout the project.
This success led to further commissioning, solidifying our role as a trusted partner.
Customisation at its Finest
The Ford Order Kit was developed by TECNIQ, in conjunction with Ford Marketing, to assist customers in personalising their Ford GT.
Approved applicants received a unique kit enabling them to physically piece together every aspect of their Ford GT supercar.
Included in the kit was everything from paint colours, wheel options, caliper colours, interior material samples and racing stripes.
“The Ford GT ordering kit is a critical piece in the purchase process. This high-quality kit is a hands-on tool for Ford GT customers to enhance their ordering experience. Authentic colours, finishes and materials will provide them an intimate, tactile way to discern the multitude of choices to configure their ideal supercar.”
– Henry Ford III, global marketing manager, Ford Performance.
