Driver training.

Historic motorsport is one of the most engaging forms of racing, without intervention from modern driving aids such as traction and stability control.

Classic Racing can help support drivers develop awareness and driving techniques, such as understanding the correct lines, and the art of car control utilising our in-house driver coach, Chris Ward.

As an historic festival specialist Chris has claimed multiple race wins at events including Le Mans, Monaco, Goodwood, Spa and Silverstone. He can work to improve one of the most important elements in a historic race car, the driver.

Chris works with drivers of all abilities, from those looking at gaining a competition licence, all the way through to the accomplished historic racer, searching for those vital tenths of a second.

Once you have honed your skills as a driver, we offer race and event support, including in-house vehicle preparation from our purpose-built facility.

Please contact us regarding bespoke one-to-one driver training at a range of circuits in the UK and Europe.

“Our mission is to create engineering precision and perfection. With the vast experience of our passionate and skilled engineering team, Classic Racing possesses the required expertise to create and build world-class restorations.”

Our services.

We understand that owning and running a classic car can be a labour of love, but it should not detract from the enjoyment of driving. Our dedicated team of engineers is available to travel to any location to provide a comprehensive, world-class service to our customers on the ground.
Vehicle inspections.

Our team of experts can help provide peace of mind, and give an accurate, unbiased assessment of any historic vehicle. We can advise on the precise body and mechanical condition of a potential acquisition, including highlighting any mechanical or bodywork concerns which may compromise a purchase.

Each inspection offers a comprehensive mechanical check. Major components and assemblies of the vehicle are inspected and assessed,
including bodywork, interior, steering, transmission, suspension and electrics.

If the vehicle is in a running condition, permission allowing, compression and leak-down tests can be completed and the vehicle can be driven, if required. Our engineers will not only judge the condition of a vehicle, but also its originality.

With years of experience in restoration, engineering and supporting some of the world’s most desirable competition cars, we have the ability to identify non-original components, upgrades and repairs that compromise the integrity of a car’s history and ultimate value.

Post-completion of the inspection, a detailed report, documented with photographic evidence, will be presented to the customer.

Transparent acquisition.

Our team of qualified and highly experienced engineers hold a significant amount of knowledge, and can provide detailed assessment of a potential vehicle purchase.

Following an inspection, the Classic Racing team can handle the acquisition on your behalf, from negotiation through to settlement, potential export and collection of the motor vehicle, providing a ‘source to delivery’ service.

Our team of engineers are adept at identifying non-original components and upgrades that may detract from the value of a potential purchase.

Covered transport.

Our attention to detail and professional approach to restoration is carried through to our bespoke transportation service. Classic Racing can provide a fully-enclosed, bespoke collection and delivery service throughout the UK and Europe.

Discerning owners can rest assured that their vehicles are collected in a timely manner, loaded and secured with the care and consideration you expect. Each vehicle is assessed, documented, and individually secured and covered while in transit.

Tailored storage.

Classic Racing offers the complete storage solution, providing a fully tailored service, including servicing, remedial work and full valet service in preparation for your next trip or event.

Our on-site, heat monitored, storage facility can securely house up to 25 cars. Situated adjacent to the A12, just North of Witham and only five minutes’ walk from London mainline Witham train station.

Vehicles can be stored ready to drive and collect at the push of a button, or we can provide delivery and collection throughout the UK and Europe via fully enclosed transporter.

Detailing & paint correction.

Our team of skilled craftsmen working from state-of-the-art facilities can complete any level of restoration required, from minor paint correction through to full concours restoration.

Whether conducting a full body strip down or a minor stone chip, the same standard of care and attention to detail is carried out.

Our dedicated preparation and paint facility has been built to the highest standards and our engineers only use the highest quality materials. The team can match manufacturer original paint colours, or create bespoke colours upon request.

Our engineers have showcased examples of their work across the world, including celebrating awards on the lawns at Pebble Beach and Salon Privé.

Event entries & logistics.

As part of a comprehensive support package, Classic Racing provides a one-stop service, which includes event entries and logistics. Our team can manage entries for headline motorsport events, races and rallies throughout Europe, including the Mille Miglia and Targa Florio.

We can oversee every aspect of the event, including supporting driver and vehicle entry, flights, hotels, and vehicle logistics. We can also manage the various vehicle technical paperwork required for historic racing and rallies, including HTP papers and FIVA cards.

Our technologies.

The Classic Racing business is supported by TECNIQ, a company specialising in automotive engineering, design and manufacturing, utilising the latest technologies and systems.

This synergy with TECNIQ’s technology-driven activities bolsters the abilities of Classic Racing to undertake vehicle restorations and upgrades using skillsets rarely found within the classic car industry.

3D scanning.

TECNIQ has more than 15 years of experience producing 3D scans of components, gaining a vast amount of experience and techniques to provide customers and manufacturers with the highest quality virtual models.

TECNIQ specialises in high accuracy digital models with minimal scanning time. The use of 3D scanning is both incredibly efficient and accurate, highly experienced in the following 3D applications; OEM design, automotive aftermarket such as vehicle seats and interiors, printed parts, and vehicle restoration.

Casting & machining.

The main TECNIQ business offers key services which provide CNC turning and milling. Whether your design requirement is simple or complex, large or small, our skilled engineers are able to produce accurate and quality engineering for each and every component.

Our facilities are considered one of the most skilled and precise in Europe, with the latest CNC turning and multi-axis CNC milling equipment in-house.

Our facility is extensive, ensuring that we have complete control and capability throughout each and every stage of build of a restoration or race preparation project.

Reverse engineering.

TECNIQ has been working with Computer Aided Design (CAD) for many years, and Classic Racing benefits from expertise in ensuring reverse engineering is a viable and efficient method to build and create 3D virtual models of existing physical components.

Reverse engineering is used to bring existing physical geometry into digital product development environments. This creates a 3D record to analyse how a component works in a particular environment and how it can be improved to reach its optimum potential.

Classic Racing offers the in-house capability to reverse engineer components. This includes steering and suspension, housings, uprights, specialist engine components including cylinder heads and complex engine blocks, as well as large items such as complete chassis, structural components and body panels.

Director profiles.
